Frisskiss

Frisskiss is a Cornellism for Christmas and is pronouced just as it's spelled. It comes from my niece Evie when she was almost two. We love this one and say it every year.
Example: "We wish you a merry Frisskiss, We wish you a merry Frisskiss..."
Harry got lots of fun Frisskiss presents and we're grateful for the distractions they've brought. He's not one to sit still and play with something for very long, but I can tell he's definitely enjoyed having new things to play with, even if only for a few minutes at a time! We also got to spend lots of time with both sides of the family. I can tell that they holidays to come are going to be even more fun. So here are some pictures from Frisskiss 2009.

Christmas Eve morning, he was in an awfully good mood even though he didn't know what he was in for.

This is the first year we had our stockings at our house. You know you're an adult when you have to stuff your own stocking.

We didn't get Harry that many presents because we knew he'd get spoiled by all the aunts, uncles and grandparents. We did get him fun stocking stuffers though. Here he is opening his first one.

He quickly got into ripping the paper. Notice the new set of stacking cups in the background that was one of his actual presents. This was $5 and is by far one of his favorites. You just never know what they'll go for.

Once he quickly finished with his presents, he started helping us open ours. He seems really underwhelmed by the Crock-Pot.

He got some help from Evie, Auntie Sarah and Amma at the Vander Schaaf Christmas on Christmas day.

Amma found him his very own golf set. He's had lots of fun misusing the clubs around the house. We're working on teaching him the clubs stay on the ground.

Harry and Elise got a matching set of reindeer antlers in their stockings from Grammie C. We're proud they sat still next to each other long enough to get a good picture. We did have to bribe Harry with some graham cracker fishies in his new snack cup from his stocking, but it worked!

Harry got a Little People fire truck from Uncle Nick and it is definitely also one of his favorites. He heard a siren the other day and went to the window to see if he could see the truck, but sadly it didn't go in front of the house.

Harry got a little Radio Flyer bike from Amma and Pakke. He doesn't ride it as much as I'd like him too, and not nearly as much as his cousin Max rides his. Hopefully as he gets a little older and it gets warmer outside, he'll really get into it.

Nate showed Harry that he could get into one of our kitchen cupboards if we took out the wire shelves for him, so of course he loves it. I also love how he looks so cute in his holiday hand-me-down sweater.
